01

List it

Snap a few photos, set your price and the dates you're available. We'll help you price it so it rents.

02

Renters near you book and pay through Green Gooding. You approve, then arrange a handoff that works for you.

03

Get paid

They return it, you get paid — 80% of the rental, straight to your bank a few days later. Repeat as often as you like.

Owner questions

Everything you need before you list.

What can I list on Green Gooding?

Tools, kitchen and small appliances, party gear, sport and outdoor equipment, electronics — anything useful a New Yorker might want to borrow rather than buy. If you're unsure, list it and we'll review.

How much do owners earn?

Owners keep 80% of every rental. The remaining 20% covers payment processing, the built-in Protection Plan, and platform operations. No listing fees, no monthly subscription. Payouts land in your bank a few days after each completed rental.

Is my item protected if it gets damaged?

Every rental is covered by our Protection Plan, which can reimburse up to 50% of the item's declared new value after we verify damage with both you and the renter. We always talk with you before any charge is applied.

How does handoff work?

Most owners hand off in person — it's the easiest way to verify the renter and explain how the item works. You can also hand off through a doorman or trusted neighbor, or offer delivery as a paid extra at a price you set.

How do I set my price?

You set your own prices. We encourage keeping a one-week rate at or below roughly 1/3 of the item's retail value (about 15–20% per day), so renting always stays meaningfully cheaper than buying.

How do I get started?

Create an account, snap a few photos, set your price and availability, and publish. Most listings go live in a few minutes — then you approve requests and get paid after each rental.

There's demand for your stuff.

Your neighbors are already looking. List what you own, set your price, and let it earn between the times you actually use it.

Start listing now

Green Gooding is NYC's peer-to-peer rental marketplace. Every day, New Yorkers search for equipment they need for a single project or weekend — a pressure washer, a projector, a carpet cleaner, a party speaker, a cooler — and often there's nothing listed nearby. That unmet demand is an opportunity: if you own one of these items and use it only a few times a year, you can list it and earn while it would otherwise sit in a closet.

Listing is free and takes minutes. You keep 80% of every rental, set your own price and availability, and every booking is covered by our Protection Plan. Hand off in person, through a doorman or neighbor, or offer delivery as a paid extra — whatever fits your building and your schedule. Payments are handled securely through the platform, with payouts to your bank after each completed rental.

Popular for: pressure washers, projectors, carpet and upholstery cleaners, party and PA speakers, coolers, folding tables and chairs, tents and camping gear, garment steamers, ladders, sewing machines, drones, and pet carriers.
